Welcome to Penny's blog ~ this blog initially was a way of tracking Penny's progress through her pregnancy and foaling. It is now a progress report on Percy, as Penny has gone to a stud in Devon.

He is also a highly successful Dressage Stallion with impeccable bloodlines, being closely related to Almox Prints J and Pepel, both Olympic medalists.

I was gifted Penny by my friend Angela Cox who previously competed her with Sam Jennings. Penny injured her hind leg in the paddock, which put an end to her competitive career. Veterinary advice given at the time was that with a considerable amount of time off she may come sound again, however my friend decided that it would be fairer for her to have a new career. I have always had an interest in breeding and have worked on two studs myself. The most commonly known one being Louella Stud in Leicestershire where I worked for a season (a very busy one with approx 150 mares each for the most popular stallions) in 1996. I then worked for Fulling Mill Stud for three years, who bred and prepared race horses for the Doncaster and Newmarket sales. I left the stud when it moved to Wiltshire from Sussex and now my interest in breeding is my hobby. Penny is currently in foal to Utopian Opposition due 12/06/07.
